Hi Everyone, the weather has gone downhill a bit this week, but we did have a great weekend before hand with blue skies and good winds for all our different levels of sailing. Lets hope its the same on the 11th of Sept for our fun Tera race day.

8.30am Sunday Juniors

Like most Sundays, we again had a few newbies wanting to try sailing and with the winds basically s/e and blowing around 4/5 knots it was perfect for both the experienced sailors and the first timers to practice their skills. Again this week both Ruby and Yo-Yo were out there laughing and falling out of boats and it looked like so much fun that quite a few of the others took up the challenge and capsized as well. What a perfect morning sailing .

10.30am Sunday Juniors

With the wind increasing to around 6 knots but staying s/e we sent everyone off to the yellow buoy down at the canal which set up a perfect work to windward and a broad reach back. Nearly everyone struggled at first on the upwind but with some coaching everyone got the idea and started missing the sandbar. The standouts were Jess in the Laser and Alex in the Bic, with both of them with some helpful tips really nailing both the upwind and broad-reach back.

Open Bic

We are still working on this with only Jonah racing at the moment, but we think we have a few nearly ready to give it a go, all we have to do is convince them to have a go.

Open Race

With only Roger out there, the rest of the fleet was made up of 4.7 sailors and as usual they didn't disappoint with race one a very close tussle with Dallas beating Casey by less than a second.
Race two was shaping up the same until Casey ripped the block and becket off the boom so her day was done, so it was up to the boys to battle it out in race two.
I did pull Casey aside after racing to give her some tips on mark rounding and finish line rules so watch out Dallas she wont be so kind in the future !
Whose Birthday is on Saturday ? and yes I think there will be cake !
