Junior Sailing Sunday Juniors was held in maximum wind conditions (8 to 12 knots) with some high speeds, collisions, near misses and capsizing but overall all the juniors handled the conditions well. A special commendation to India and Sienna 2 for a great team effort. Good work girls! | Junior racing Junior racing was also held in 8 to 12 knots with occasional gusts of around14 knots, so, again some high speeds and a few capsizes. Dillon and Charlie who have started training in Bics found the going a bit tough as the Bics are not as forgiving as the Tera's. There were a few capsizes between them, especially on the broad reaches with just a bit to much main out resulting on high siding a spat out. Our lone girl competitor (Kayla) showed the boys up winning two of the four races (large grin was evident as she crossed the finish line). | Club Race Racing was held in 10 to 16 knots with a close tussle between Peter, Jackson and Judge John up to the first mark. Jackson was rounding first but then unfortunately he headed for the wrong mark ( C )and by the time he realized his mistake both Peter and John had passed him. That was how they finished in just on one hour. There was some good speed shown by all and again a special congratulations to Trisha who usually struggles in those conditions but actually finished right behind the other 4.7. Good work Trisha (must be all that coaching in the 470). |
