Hi Everyone , Yes its getting closer Christmas is just around the corner and we are already starting on 2017 activities including more club racing and more challenges for our junior sailors so stay tuned !Dont forgfet there is no Juniors this weekend because we are holding our annual try sailing fundraiser .
8.30 Sunday Juniors ;
With the day starting in bright sunshine but stifling humidity it was mandatory that an early swim be taken just to cool down while we were getting the club set up . Numbers were down compared to the previous week but condiotions were perfect with winds based out of the East at around 4/6 knots . We set up a short course first then slowly increased its length south so that everyone could enjoy the perfect sailing conditions . We even had a few new sailors who due to the light winds managed to even have a go at steering , all in all a perfect start to the day .
10.30 Sunday Juniors ;
We think it is because of the time of year with Xmas fast approaching that this clkass only had 3 sailors with Abbey , Sam and Ollie taking out Bics and practicing their windward leeward sailing . It was a challenge as we put the upwind mark right on the edge of no sailing but with a bit of coaching everyone managed to sail around the course . The stand out was Ollie who of late has really come ahead in his sailing even his video on facebook was excellent showing his tacking skills .
 1. 25 pm Club Racing ;
For the last race of the year we held our annual marathon around crab island and with the winds now around 15 knots it was perfect sailing weather . It was a hard slog up to the top green at Soverign with Tom first around and Michael right on his tail before they headed across to the red then the ride down to the deep hole . We did allow Jes to cut across early as she is new to racing and we also towed Jonah in his bic upt to the green just to give him a chance .
The gybe at the west cardinal caught a few people out including Michael who showed me a nice lump on his head back at the club but he chased Tom all the way home . Casey was first home in the 4.7 fleet and Pat and Daniel proved me wrong by not capsizing the 420 although I reckon Dan would have had a few bruises from his attempts at hiking out !

This Sunday Try Sailing Day starting at 8.30 am so bring your friends along for some fun  followed by our Club Christmas Party at Paradise Point Bowls Club starting at 4.00 pm with the buffet beginning at 5.30 pm if you havnt already booked dont worry you can pay at the door so come along and have some fun !
