Sunday Juniors 8.30 class:
Well again we had beautiful weather conditions but I don’t know what happened with only 10 budding sailors having a good sail in 4 to 6 knot winds. It was a bit slow at first but as the morning went on the wind built to around 6 knots. Buttercup (Cobey 0) sailed well with our new girl Jasmine right on his heels, she even managed to succeed at my race tacking style! cant say much though for the supposed racing crew who tried to show her how it was done BACK TO THE SIMULATOR!
Sunday Juniors 10.30 class:
Again conditions were perfect with everyone sailing solo and because conditions were so good with winds in the east we went for a few laps to Runaway Bay and back. Everyone really enjoyed sailing away from the club and especially because the winds were better away from Ephriam Island. It even gave the kids a chance to sail without all the expert commentary from the shore which as we all know is invaluable right dads !!!
Open Bic:
Open Race;
The open race was our last race of 2013 and as usual it was the Club Marathon which was held around Crab Island in winds of around 12 to 15 knots, again everyone had to contend with the usual powerboat brigade as usual on the wrong side of the channel and very choppy conditions on the upwinds. Mar Brown flew home first with Maurie a close second and Peter third. George Morton sailed well in the 4.7 and came in in front in the 4.7 with Oscar second and Lachy third. A special mention to Will and Jack who sailed the 420 with a leaking bailer and didn’t capsize !!!
Ok everyone don’t forget the Xmas Party on Sunday starting at 2.30 pm c u there!
