Hi Everyone, yet again another week in Paradise with both Saturday and Sunday turning out with blue skies and good winds, even if they were from the west. We had Casey and Sienna out on Saturday training for the Bendigo Bank Youth Cup working on roll tacks and gybes, I guess they are really keen to do well this year.

8.30am Sunday Juniors

With 17 Junior sailors and beginners signing on, it was again a great morning for Junior sailing. Even though the winds were fluky, and Kyle had to do a few buoy adjustments, it finally settled down to around 0 to 5 knots w/n/w. Ava, Sydney and co. were out there smiling and trying not to crash into people, especially our newest member, Ruby, in her Opti which is not as strong as the Tera. People like Kyle were just cruising and I must admit looking good. Now all we have to do is convince them all to enter the Tera Cup on Sunday the 26th of June !

10.30am Sunday Juniors

After the usual hot chip run and again with light winds, we finally got on the water with a rough triangle course which became a challenge for just about everyone, especially as the incoming tide increased. Most of the Bic sailors really struggled in the conditions, but I did manage to get Jess ( Alge !) and Brendan going around what turned out to be a difficult course with the tide influence, but I congratulate both of them for listening and really having a go.
The rest, well they just mucked around standing up and even falling out which totally amazed me considering the recent drop in water temperature, just ask Tianna who like me was wet from around 9.15 .

Open Bic Racing

Well with Charlie and Daniel using excuses for not sailing, it was up to Alec and Jonah to again support their class in what had been all day very testing conditions with winds now s/e but still plenty of increasing outgoing tide. They sailed a shorter course than the Adults with two tough upwinds, which Jonah actually sailed very well with good boat speed and he even went the right way. It must have been Alec's day for going too far like Jonah the week before especially coming back from B mark ? Gotta shorten them up Alec.

Open Race

With a few no shows among the adults, probably because of the light conditions, we only had a fleet of 14 boats on the water with a good sprinkling of 4.7 sailors totaling 6 with Brendan and Jess joining the fleet . We held two back to back races comprising of triangle and windward leeward with Tom coming out the victor and Steve coming in second ( must have been the borrowed sail ) and Simone first . Casey lead the pack in both races with Sienna second in the first and Dallas second in race two well done everyone
