8.30 am Sunday Juniors ;
Well I know its winter but conditions on the weekend were perfect with early n/ w winds we set a course across the broadwater and 13 budding sailors set out to practice their tacks and gybes . There were a few sharp gusts which kept everyone on their toes especially the bic sailors who had to react to the changes faster right Addy ? Ava and her crew were the only ones to capsize with Tain this week managing to stay in his boat and sail well .
10.30 am Sunday Juniors ;
With conditions now turning s/e at around 10/14 knots we started the group out with two buoys in front of the club to practice both tacks and gybes . It was perfect near the club as it gave them a good upwind and downwind . Although a few struggled with the upwind at first generally everyone managed to get around the marks made harder when we sent them of to the yellow buoy in front of the canal . It was great practice for next weekend,s Regatta and the broadreaches were spectacular right Declan and Jonah ? you two were really flying .
Open Racing ;
No racing this weekend as it was a lay day on the calendar as is next weekend so any of our racing sailors who arent competing come along and jump on a safety boat as we are looking for crews especially with sailing experience .
In place of racing we took Public Nuisance for its first sail on the broadwater crewed by Dallas Casey Charlie Lachy Jonah Peter and me absolutely perfect sunny conditions and 12/15 knot breezes and we only ran aground once at the club pontoon!!!
