Hi everyone, wow, I am really late this week, just been very busy with the planning for this weekends event. It is looking like we will have good wind and weather if not a bit cool around 20 degrees for the Bendigo Bank Youth Cup and Tera Cup on Sunday, but they do say the sun will be shining and also favourable winds over the two days .

8.30am Sunday Juniors

With last weekends weather very patchy we didn't have much of a call up for the early class but those who turned up actually had good sailing weather, with wind generally from the north it created actually good conditions with steady breeze and tide creating smooth water . With Lewin out of action with a broken wrist, we all enjoyed a very funny video that his mum took off him waking up which she will probably keep for his twenty first birthday  .

10.30am Sunday Juniors

By the time this session started the winds were around 6/10 knots n/e so it was perfect, especially for those who had entered the Tera cup on the 26th of June to practice teamwork. I have to say Abbey and Rowin really did well with straight lines and good tacking between the buoys even Hallam and Ben did well eventually once we got the sailing at the buoys instead of away from them. Jess took a friend out who accidentally was sprayed by the yellow boat it was all Charlies idea right Charlie .

Open Bic Racing

With Jonah and Alec away it was up to charlie and Daniel to race the Bics, but it didn't start well with Dan forgetting to duck and copping one on the jaw causing a split gum and some bleeding. We sent him back to shore as a precaution and he ended coming out on the rescue boat instead. Charlie raced himself and came first second and third, he actually sailed very smart especially as there were quite a few knocks with wind speeds anything from 10 to 17 knots.

Open Racing

Not many turned up again for racing so it was up to the 4.7 sailors and one ring in with a full rig to line up at the start. Conditions were a bit of a challenge with the gybe mark set in the s/w right in the gusty area so there were a few gybe capsizes right Tianna ? Pat really pulled out a special effort and lead for almost all the race with crisp tacks and gybes the order of the day, Dallas and Casey just couldn't seem to catch him but as any sailor will tell you its not over till its over and on the last leg back to the finish both Pat and Dallas got a knock and then capsized and Casey missed it and sailed first over the finish line . It was truly great racing to watch !

Additional Notes

Don't forget normal Sunday juniors isn't on as it replaced with the Tera Cup, and we are still looking for crews so come along and join the fun racing
