Hi Everyone , with week two of the school holidays coming to an end our two Junior sailing camps were just fantastic events with good numbers for each camp and generally good weather so that everyone including a few first time sailors could either improve their skills our enjoy their introduction to sailing . A special thanks to our youth assistant sailing Instructor Charlie B for all his help over both camps great work mate !
8.30 Sunday Juniors ;
With the weather heating up including the water temperature its getting more comfortable in and on the water and with a healthy group of 15 blue and green armband sailors keen to hit the water we set up a reaching course out from the club .
As usual the winds were from the n/w early which always creates a challenge as the wind speed increased and the gusts became a bit nasty but all in all everyone sailed well even if their was the occassional capsize and the odd crashing into another boat . Caiden sailed well in the bic after a few tips from Charlie and me which unlike some people he actually listened too hence less capsizes .
10.30 Sunday Juniors ;
By the time we hit the water for this  session the wind had turned n/n/e around 10/12 knots with the odd gust . Abbey chose to sail a tera rather than her laser and she just flew around the course tacking and gybing as did Addy who being the smallest totally impressed a few of the 8.30 dads with her ability to sail the conditions especially being the smallest in the group . Even Kaleb went well especially after a few tips from Ollie about sitting on the side and finally Ollie who just continues to improve each week with some great general sailing.
Open Racing ;
By 12.30 the winds had settled into the n/e and increased to around 15 / 18 knots making all the adults either go radial or 4.7. Peter set a course starting at runners and comprised two laps to the middle of ephriam on the soverign side and then two laps to below soverign then a long work to the finish at the club pontoon . The stand out sailor of the day was Charlie who after his usual blinder start chased Tom around the course and was totally untouchable by the following fleet . Kate and Roger said try as they might they just couldnt catch him ! Casey had a day to forget as she just couldnt come to grips with the conditions and Brendan had a leaky boat so he had to pull out after downwind capsizes .
Upcoming ;
Canteen , a few of the mums are off to our Coffee supplier on thursday to do a barista course so good luck everyone .
Public Nuisance is at the boat yard getting a face lift thanks to Andrew who organised it and Dallas , Charlie , Pete , Rob and Roger for helping to tow her up and for repairing and sanding and sanding and sanding her hull prior to a rap being put on her , should look awesome .

CU on the water
